Retirement planning
Planning for retirement can be daunting - how much super will you need to enjoy the kind of retirement you want - and what options are available to help you reach your goals?
It is important to start planning as early as possible for your retirement. Currently the life expectancy for Australian males is 84 years and 88 years for females. This means if you are planning to retire at 67 your retirement savings will need to last you for about 17 years if you're male and over 20 years if you are a female.
Studies have found that people need about 60% of their current annual income in retirement. So if you are currently earning $50,000 you may need approximately $30,000 annual income in retirement.
